When my son was born with a life-threatening congenital heart condition, I began using poetry as a form of  narrative medicine for strength, to connect with others, and to heal. After my poems became widely published in poetry journals, medical journals, and into a book, strangers began to encourage me to put my poetry on cards in order to help others. Hence, the tiny poetry project - medicine for the soul card company was born.
